Summer is upon us. Better weather, reconnecting with friends, and time in the sun. Tiring work routines, with all their monotonous concerns, are defied as the days get longer and brighter. Of course there are great options for partygoers who want to stay in the U.S., but why stay at home when the world is your oyster? From Ibiza to thailand-789724_1280-1Thailand, there are exciting events happening around the world all summer long. Have a generous amount of vacation time? Why not use it? This is your guide to the best summer globe-trotting events of the season.

Golden Jubilee Celebrations, Singapore (August 9th)

This summer Singapore celebrates 50 years of freedom. Known for its lush tropical landscape, and casual island culture, it’s easy to feel as if you're lost between Hawaii and Japan. Held on August 9th, this year’s Golden Jubilee celebration is slated to impress with bigger and better festivities: fireworks, shows, parades and the opening of a new walkway from the Civic District to Marina Bay.

Palio di Siena Race, Siena, Italy (July 2nd and August 16th)

Italians know how to party. For over 700 years this traditional bareback horse race has been an event to remember. Ten hired jockeys representing different Sienese districts ride through a dirt track central to the Siena. If a rider happens to fall off, not to worry, his horse can still win. This event is widely celebrated in the region, as winners have the potential to win prestige and money. If you like the classical culture of Italy and the intensity of competitive sports, Palio di Siena is for you.

World Judo Championship, Kazakhstan (August 25th- 30th)

Judo anyone? Those looking to wrap up their summer with some exotic travel might be interested in the world Judo Championship taking place in Kazakhstan. Bordered by China and Russia, this lesser known country holds The World Judo Championship in Astana, its capital city. Judo champs from all over the globe fight for the title of World Judo Champion. With plenty of sheik hotspots, bars, and restaurants, this competition shouldn't be missed.

Fukuoka's Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival, Japan (July15th)

Fakuoka’s Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival is surely one of the more cultural festivals to attend this year. If you're a fan of Japanese culture and love an Asian Mardi Gras vibe, this festival's for you. During this festival, colorful kakiyama floats are transported through the streets. There are seven different floats, each representing one of the seven different neighborhoods participating in the race. This race is a celebration of Japan's unique rites focused on the Kushida Jinja Shinto Shrine. The city goes all out, becoming a decorated center for entertainment and fun.

Full Moon Party, Koh Phangan, Thailand (Once a month)

The southern Thai island of Koh Phangan is best known for hosting the infamous Full Moon Party. While the party is held every month on the full moon, the summer months draw a large crowd from all over the world. It's definitely a night to remember, filled with neon paint and Thai bucket drinks. There are several luxury accommodations on the island where you can spend the next day recovering in the spa or lounging on the beach. Learn more about the VIP experience in Thailand here.
